Lala Laxmi Narayan Degree College, Allahabad, was established in 1971 as an affiliated college of Uttar Pradesh, India, spread over 5 acres. For the past five decades, this has been an institute shaping the Contours of Learning. This college is approved by NCTE and has a well-planned curriculum in teacher education. With a total enrolment of 866 students, the strength of the faculty is 19, thereby maintaining a very conducive student-teacher ratio, which calls for the ideal focus towards each student for quality education. 

Lala Laxmi Narayan Degree College has many facilities to make the students' experience more enriching and to support their academic pursuits. Separate boys' and girls' hostels provide a safe and comfortable living environment within the campus. It is worthwhile to note that availing the hostel facilities is compulsory for the trainees, which builds up a cohesive group of learners. The college library would thus act as the knowledge centre, providing ample support to the students in their academic pursuits. The institution also has a big sports complex with modern facilities for both indoor and outdoor games and a well-equipped gym for the sports and fitness enthusiasts. The institution also organizes a Sports Festival every year to motivate students to participate in various competitions. Supplementing the syllabi, the college has well-maintained departmental laboratories, which help students learn by experimentation. Currently, the one major course that Lala Laxmi Narayan Degree College is running is the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme. It is a two-year full-time course with the aim of preparing students for careers in teaching and education. The approved intake for the B.Ed. programme is 100 seats. This clearly reflects the sincere approach of the college towards maintaining quality in education while meeting the demand for institutionally trained graduate teachers. This helps the institution to channel its resources and competencies toward the successful production of a high-quality teacher training programme.

Admission into the B.Ed course of Lala Laxmi Narayan Degree College is merit-based. Admissions are made on the basis of merits in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. In making admissions, the College also admits on the basis of any other selection process, as determined from time to time by the policy of the State Government / U.T.
