Lala Rural College,which started in 1964 at Hailakandi is a recognised college in Assam,India. Located at College Road in Lala of Hailakandi, this institution has been catering the young generation for nearly sixty years. Although the college doesn’t have a prescribed short name the abbreviated name in local parlance is LRC. The college at the moment has 755 learners and is staffed by a faculty of 28 members. LRC offers two undergraduate programs: A full time three year course namely the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and the Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). 

By achieving the vision, the college gets pride in offering all round utilities which facilitates the student benefits. In addition, the campus has a well stocked library that provides needed informational needs to the students and instructors. For the lovers of active rest everything is provided – modern gym and sports complex with various facilities. The college also provide different hostels for boys and girls for accommodating out-station students with all necessary facilities. A facility on campus is an auditorium that acts as a place of holding of different events and seminars that help create a rich college life. Proprietorally, LRC also avails facilities for enhancing student health with a health center that contains first aid facililities. Due to advancement in the modern world, the college has equipped outstanding IT equipment and molds the students for the technological world. 

All the courses provided at Lala Rural College are at undergraduate level, for which a full time attendance is offered and the total number of courses is two only. The BA and the B.Com have been designed to offer students a good background in the courses they choose in the respective fields. No mention is made on how many specializations are offered in these programs; nonetheless, both courses contain a number of elective courses that enable students to follow personalized curricula. It has total student intake of 755 at the same time this is the present enrollment of the college which shows that there is constant market for the programs offered by the college.
