Lalbaba College, established in the year 1964, is one of the leading institutions in the state at the degree level. This affiliated college has a compact campus of 1.561 acres, and it offers various undergraduate courses in arts, commerce, and science streams. A total enrolment of 3,450 students are catered to by 81 members of the teaching faculty in the college. Lalbaba College has successfully maintained an adequate student-faculty ratio. It has a diversified nature of the student body. The boys and girls are nearly in equal proportion and all from within the state.

It provides the best environment possible for learning to its students. The library is well equipped with over 31,000 books and subscribing to 11 journals and dailies, which proves very helpful for the academic pursuit within the campus. The college has recently set up a computer lab with 17 high-speed internet connected computers and thus embraces technology. This facility is useful especially to the students who take up compulsory computer training as part of their syllabus of the university. There is also a canteen that offers refreshments at reasonable rates, besides a student run store selling textbooks and stationery at concessional rates.

Lalbaba College has approximately 20 undergraduate courses on a full-time basis. All its academic portfolios of BA, BSc, and BCom degree offer various honours specialisations.
