Lalgudi Co-operative Polytechnic College was started in the year 2000, offered the Polytechnic Courses and Affiliated to the Tamil Nadu State Board of Technical Education. It is an AICTE approved institute offering diploma courses in engineering streams in Kerala. The college is located on a large piece of land of twenty point twenty acres to enhance technical learning environment. While having only 352 students in its enrolment, Lalgudi Co-operative Polytechnic College has a dedicated faculty to produce competent professionals in various fields of engineering. It has currently three full time diploma programmes to suffice the need of technical professional in this part of the country.

Lalgudi Co-operative Polytechnic College entails various facilities with an intention of improving on the learning experience of the students. An equipped library which complements the school is helpful when it comes to availing educational materials. New departmental laboratories have been designed in accordance with the principles of new profile concept for optimum practical training of students. For purposes of comprehensive development, the college provides sporting amenities to ensure the students’ balanced development between academics and sporting activities. A large hall on the territory of the University is used for holding various events and seminars to enhance the intellectual development and cultural experience of people. Also for the IT related subjects the college has invested excellent IT facilities; students are oriented well for the world of digitalisation. There is a cafeteria on the territory, which is able to satisfy both staff and students in food; thus creating unity on a campus.

The programmes offered in Lalgudi Co-operative Polytechnic College are mainly Department of Engineering Diploma courses. There are 3 full-time courses in the institute, all of these courses comprise three years of studying. These programmes have a purpose of preparing students with hands-on training and academic information in their respective disciplines.
