Late Shri Jaidev Satpathi College Basna, Foundation year 1989 is an Affiliated College in Mahasmund district of Chhattisgarh. This is a government teaching institution that is situated in a 15-acre compound where the university offers all types of undergraduate studies. It is accredited with the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) which makes the college conscious of quality education. The college has 1,093 students and a faculty of five, and hence students get adequate concentration while studying. Currently, the institution provides 3 degree programmes in various fields to meet the education demands of the area.

These activities are conducted under a gazetted sports officer who is supposed to ensure that they offer appropriate training and directions. Furthermore, the college has retained departmental laboratories in line with the practical session of students in various courses offered.

Late Shri Jaidev Satpathi Government College offers three full-time programmes: These include the following; Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Bio Group, and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com). Each of these programmes takes three years to complete and arm students with substantial knowledge within choice fields. The colleges total intake capacity for students is 1093 proving the colleges, important contribution towards the provision of higher education in the region.
