Laxman Singh Mahar Government Post Graduate College, Pithoragarh, was founded in 1963. This affiliated college in Pithoragarh of Uttarakhand has been imparting higher education to the district since nearly the last six decades. The 3-acre campus is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, thus holding a quality education. The College has 27 number of courses under 9 degree programs. The admission process of LSM GPGC is mainly dominated by the rules and regulations of Kumaun University, Nainital, to which it is affiliated. In most of the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, merit in the qualifying examination is the basis for offering admission. However, selection to the B.Ed. course might be made through entrance test or any such selection process that the state government and the university policy adopt.
