Cochin based Lisie College of Pharmacy was established in 2018, and thus is a budding college specialising in the field of pharmacy. This affiliated college is situated in Kochi, Kerala; it is recognised by AICTE and PCI to maintain the standards of education prevailing across India. Spread across a small area of 2.2 acres, the college has two niche pharmacy courses proved for 140 students’ intake in total. The institution has a favorable student faculty ration with 11 members of the faculty. The college aims at delivering education to students in their totality by making available all kinds of amenities that can enhance learning. The library plays a catalytic role of providing knowledge as it has enormous collection of books, e-books, national and international journals. They are also privileged to use the National Digital Library which indeed plays a great role in the research processes.
The laboratories, necessary for practical classes, are also well kept and found in accordance with department requirements. Elements of the IT infrastructure are ISM equipped laboratory to improve the English language proficiency, communication skills and personalities development. Football and badminton are part of the physical activity, while the football and a badminton court are used to encourage group cohesion. The college also provides health facilities for students through the college health center that mainly deals with first aid. Other facilities are hostels for out of town students with a girl’s hostel 1Km away from the campus and a boy’s hostel adjacent to the college.
Lisie College of Pharmacy currently offers two full-time pharmacy programs: offers two programs to train its students which include a 2-year Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharma) and a 4-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma). However, the approved intake for each is 60 students and a total of 120 students per an academic year. The D.Pharma costs ₹85,000 and covers core courses in pharmaceutical sciences; the B.Pharma is a more rigorous, degree program. These programs are intended to prepare students for careers in the pharmaceutical and biotech industries and other healthcare industries, or in research organizations.
Lisie College of Pharmacy follows merit system for admission so that several students who posses desire to make their career in pharmaceutical can join this college. As with the D.Pharma program, the B.Pharma program admissions are offered strictly on the basis of merit.
