Teacher education has been an important and rising component of this University and Lord Mahavira College of Education, Sangrur was established in 2007 situated in Hamirgarh,Monawk Sangrur, Punjab. This co-educational institute is an affiliated college recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college currently enrolls students in a total number of 292, and it has two education specialized courses. Lord Mahavira College of Education is acclaimed for offering well rounded quality programs for shaping up future educators that reflect interplay between the University’s theoretical education and practical value based pedagogy.

A list of amenities that promote the learning process of the college students is as follows A. Modern day library is a beacon of knowledge, it is a storehouse of textbooks, periodicals, encyclopaedias and journals and is equipped with the latest in reading and seating facilities. Currently, the institution has got departmental laboratories which allows practice for the intending teachers. Thus, Lord Mahavira College of Education currently provides two complete courses in the field of education. The admission capacity of Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) program is 100 and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) program is 50. Each of the programs is expected to take two years to complete, thus offering a full course to prospective teachers.

The admission for various courses in Lord Mahavira College of Education is also very much dependent on the marks of the entrance examination and/or the qualification examination. For the B.ED programme, the admissions are offered according to policy given by the state government, UT administration and the university to which College is affiliated.
