LR Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology, Solan was started in 2018, and as an institute of hospitality education it is relatively new. This affiliated college is located at the beautiful village of Jabli Kyar, Solan district, Himachal Pradesh where students are provided specialised training in hotel management and catering technology. There are approximately 40 educational buildings on its 1-acre campus that allows creating rather close-knit atmosphere for learning. The institute has current enrolment of 30 students and has a capacity of 4 faculties so the institute has comparatively better student teacher ratio to provide quality education to the students.

LR Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology has installed several facilities aimed at improving the learning environment of the students it hosts. A modern library, stocked with a multitude of books, magazines, and refereed articles, as well as the latest in multimedia technology, caters to the topic of hospitality and culinary arts as the campus’ academic centre. It also has equipped modern laboratories to ensured the students get practical experience as the hospitality industry demands. For sports and other activities in academic-related activities and events, there is an auditorium within the compound. Major facilities include a separate hostel for boys and girls, a cafeteria, a health centre and first aid facilities and a well facilitated gymnasium. In order to support connected students for today’s kind of society, the campus comes with WiFi facilities.

At present, the only full time course that is available in LR Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology is Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT). This is a three-year programme , and the institute has an approved annual carry capacity of 60 students in order to emphasise quality education in the hospitality industry. This course will accurately inform the students on the general functioning of a hotel, the management of food and service and the hospitality business at large.
