Maa Kaila Devi College of Education, being an affiliated college was established in the year 2005, is situated at Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh. Located at Shivpuri Link Road, oppsite Doon Public School this institution is dedicated to teacher education. The college is also affiliated to the national council of teacher Education (NCCT) so as to meet the standard of education in the teaching profession. With a faculty strength of 7 members, the college offers two full-time courses: The college providing teacher’s training courses namely Bachelor of Education popular as B,Ed and Diploma in Elementary Education known as D. El. Ed.

Maa Kaila Devi College of Education consists of a number of facilities that were created to ease the learning process of the students of the college. Any given school should have a rich library; teachers need crucial information and materials that will prepare them for the profession. This is because it contains departmental laboratories where students are trained with practical knowledge of the area of specialization. In terms of learning with the use of technology, the college provides an outstanding facility in Information Technology and internet connection all over the campus. There are also sports facilities which should also be made available to students so that they have the best of both arenas; learning and exercising. There is a cafeteria in the campus and the number of students and staff allows them to spend a free time and communicate with each other. The college also has a health center, which includes first aid services for its clients. To the extra players from other areas of the country, the institution provides transport means for them, thus encouraging more people to access education.

At present, Maa Kaila Devi College of Education provides only two main programmes in education field. Bachelors in Education (B. ED) is a two years full course which have an approved turned of 200 students. This course is aimed at equipping the student with high level teaching competencies required in the secondary and higher secondary education.. The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), this course is also full time two years programme and 50 students intake capacity this course specially designed to through develop teacher for primary and upper primary level. Both these courses are designed with the aim of enabling the learners to obtain a thorough concept about educational theories, method of teaching and management in classroom.

With regard to enrolment’s criteria, Maa Kaila Devi College of Education operates on merit, that is on the assessment of marks secured in the entry level examinations, as well as entry tests if any. The admission to B.Ed programme shall be done on merit of the qualifying examination and the entrance examination or any other mode in accordance with policy of the state government and university. Likewise for the D.El.Ed programme, the admission criteria are based on the marks secured in the qualifying examination and or entrance test as prescribed by the state government and the affiliated university.
