Maa Shakuntala Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mau, a women's college  offers the opportunity of higher studies to females' students belonging to Uttar Pradesh.  Maa Shakuntala Mahila Mahavidyalaya aims at getting well-deserving females who are qualified and deserving enough for studying in such esteemed institutions of UP. The college has just two primary courses, the Bachelor of Arts of three years (B.A.) and a course for a period of two years for a diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), through full-time exposure to maximize students' opportunity for maximum intake.

Admission in D.El.Ed is merit-based considering marks in the qualifying examination and an entrance test. Any other selection criteria determined by the Uttar Pradesh government is followed by the college. Admission in B.A is on the basis of qualification of 10+2 from a recognized board.

Prospective students should take to the fact that the admission process falls within the academic year, thus set to begin in mid-July or August.

Application Process

Application Process: The different programs have different procedures for applying to Maa Shakuntala Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Mau.

B.A Program:
1. All aspirants who have completed 10+2 from any recognized board are eligible to apply.
2. Application form can be taken from the college or downloaded from the official website
3. Fill in the application form by adding personal and academic details.
4. Attach all the required documents: 10+2 Mark sheet, certificates.
5. After filling, submit the application form with all necessary documents to the college admission office before the deadline.

D.El.Ed Program:
1. Candidates should have a 10+2 degree from a recognized board with minimum 50% marks.
2. It is on merit basis, considering marks in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test.
3. Obtain the application form for D.El.Ed program.
4. Attach all required documents including 10+2 mark sheets, certificates and any other as mentioned by the college.
5. Submit your application form along with the required documents to the college admission office.
6. If an entrance test is taken then appear on the scheduled date of the entrance test.
7. The merit list will be prepared based on qualifying examination marks and/or entrance test performance.
8. The selected candidates will be intimated and they have to complete the admission formalities within the stipulated time.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.A The Maa Shakuntala Mahila Mahavidyalaya BA course is the undergraduate program conducted for a span of three years. To obtain admission for the said course, it is a requirement that candidates pass 10+2 from an acknowledged board. There is no minimum percentage marked for BA courses by the college, so as to consider as many applicants for the same program.

D.El.Ed: The college offers a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education. For admission to the D.El.Ed program, candidates must have passed 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized board. The college has an approved intake of 100 seats for this program. The admission process for D.El.Ed is merit-based, considering the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or an entrance examination.

General documents required for both programs include:

• Character certificate from the last institution attended
• Transfer certificate, if applicable
• Caste certificate, if applicable
• Any other certificates relevant to the institute.
