Maa Sudami Mahila Mahavidyalaya established in Alimapur, Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh is a women’s college. The college has earned itself a reputable institution of higher learning in the region. Affiliated with the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) the institute offer undergraduate courses. At present, the college has a total student strength of 472 with a faculty strength of 3, so there is a homogenic learning culture. This institute provides 3 courses in numerous academic fields to fulfil different educational dreams of the learners.

Maa Sudami Mahila Mahavidyalaya has facilities that should in one way or the other complement the learning of the students. Students are fortunate to have the UDC library as their knowledge base with all the requisite academic resources. For those having interests in sports and fitness, the college has very good infrastructural amenities such as open gym facility along with proper arrangements for football, volley ball, hockey, badminton, kabaddi, kho-kho, cricket & basketball. These are activities which are well facilitated by skilled physical education teachers. The college also has well equipped laboratory for practical programme so that the students can practice their field adequately. Also, the institute has equipped itself with modern technology through IT resource solution by providing computer training and internet services to enable them know how the advanced world operates in a computerised manner. 

Maa Sudami Mahila Mahavidyalaya offers three full-time courses: Three programmes are being offered at present namely, Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). The B.Ed programme which is a two years course admits 100 students in each course and this shows that the college takes education course especially teacher education. The BA programme is a three year course while the diploma course – D.El.Ed is of two year duration. These programmes are aimed at addressing different types of student’s career and academic goals. The total students embarked in all the courses is 472 clearly showing that the college has a large population of students who benefit from education provided by the institution. 

The admission procedure of Maa Sudami Mahila Mahavidyalaya differs from stream to stream. Admission of candidates to B.Ed programme is done on merit through aggregate marks in qualifying and/or entrance test as per rules and regulation of the state government and university to which the college is affiliated. The admission to the D.El.Ed programme may include a Common Entrance Test or a merit base selection prescribed by the University or State Government. As for the BA programme, it can be assumed that the programme also implies the system of merit.
