Madhusthali Institute of Teacher Training, Deoghar or known as MITT was a reputed Institute in Jharkhand since its beginning in 2014. This is one of the co-educational institution, situated in Deoghar, Jharkhand, and is solely devoted to the shaping up of future teachers. MITT is an affiliated college meeting the requirement of the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) in teacher education. Located in a 2 acre campus, this institute has total student strength of 300 with 21 faculty members. The MITT has three educational courses specialised for teachers and librarians, for learners who aspire to become teachers or librarian.
MITT offers the following learning amenities for improvement of the learning experience of its learners. For the out-station students the institute provides separate hostels for boys and girls with comfortable stay. Every academic centre is tailored with a necessary number of books, journals, and encyclopedias; the library possesses 4,558 books, 32 educational journals, and 20 encyclopedias. It has a reading room, which can seat 150 students that make it suitable place for reading and other academic activities. Due to concern of students health, MITT has a health centre with first aid tools, besides has a gym. This campus also provides an auditorium for conferences and seminars, a canteen for drinks and meals and modern and up-to-date IT facilities for teaching and learning. Sports facilities and laboratories and other related amenities also go in line with the students’ development.
The institute‘s course structure comprises three full- time courses which are as follows: Bachelors degree, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed), Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.Lib.I.Sc). The B.Ed programme which started this year takes a hundred students and the programme is a two-year course majoring the teaching of secondary schools. The D.El.Ed which is a two years’ course with only 50 seats of the programme is directed towards primary education. The B.Lib.I.Sc is a course that will offer 35 seats for the students who want to study library science. In totaling for these programmes, MITT offering 185 seats essential in manufacturing qualified educators and information professionals.
MITT has the merit based admission norms where students have to submit their marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. In case of B.Ed and D.El.Ed programmes, the admission process of the Institute is made according to the rules and regulations made by the state government, UT administration and the affiliated university..
