Mahabir Engineering College, Ambala, established in the year 2004, is situated at Bullana, Hissar Road, Ambala City, Haryana, India. This college campus is spread over 40 acres of land. MEC is an affiliated college and is therefore approved by All India Council for Technical Education, AICTE. This institute offers various kinds of engineering programmes with 9 courses across 2 degree levels. The faculty strength is 141, devoted to offering quality technical education.

The college has several modern facilities for executing academic activities. Also available within the college campus are a number of hostels designed for boys and girls; these are provided with good, favourable accommodation for the students. The excellent IT setup at the institute is an added advantage to already impressive infrastructure, particularly taking into account the technological requirements for students and teachers both. The central library is a knowledge base, with a built-up area in four floors, and is well-maintained and air-conditioned for comfort. MEC also provides its students with modern laboratories for its various departments, where students can work for practical knowledge and hands-on experience. 

Offering 9 courses, Mahabir Engineering College conducts both undergraduate and diploma courses. Duration of study is Four - Year full time for B.Tech programmes and three year full time for diploma programmes. B.Tech programmes are Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Other courses that MEC offers in diplomas are Civil, Computer Science, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical Engineering. 

The college mainly admits students for the B.Tech programme via JEE Main. Online off campus counseling is done by the HSCS. Admission seekers who wish to have lateral entry into B.Tech shall be made through LEET scores. The admission process is based on transparency and merit so that only the merited ones among the student get a chance to fulfill his dream of becoming an engineer.
