Maharaja Arts and Science College a self-financing institution to foster Higher Education was started in 1998 at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. This affiliated college with its small area of 1.37 acres provides a highly diverse academic curriculum to meet the demands of learners. Total enrolment of the college is 436 students and teachers and faculties in the college are 35 so the ratio of students and teachers are comparatively good. Currently the portfolio consists of 27 courses in 11 degree programmes, offered in arts and science fields of study.

Maharaja Arts and Science College aims at creating a favourable learning climate in the college with appropriate equipments. Prepared computer laboratories, equipped with 150 terminals and containing the modern software, helpful for students, are available. The library occupies the area of 2000 sq. ft. and provides a variety of printed and electronic sources, as well as multimedia for academic studies. Education for the complete person is offered at the college through excellent sporting amenities available for football, basketball, as well as volleyball. Another part of infrastructure in the campus includes a boys’ hostel and a girls’ hostel with several facilities like dining halls, recreation halls and other facilities like electricity, water supply and others are available 24 hours.

Currently, Maharaja Arts and Science College has 27 courses, 6 post graduate courses and 6 research based courses. It is fully aware of the needs that its students have and it is for this reason that it offers full-time, part-time and research programmes. The popular programmes are BCA, B.Com, B.Sc (in the different disciplines), MCA, MBA and M.Sc. It also has M.Phil and Ph.D. courses in Tamil, English, Mathematics, Commerce and Management to provide a faculty build up for research oriented teaching.
