The Maharshi Dayanand Law College, Jaipur, was established in the year 2003, situated in the pink city of Rajasthan and situated in the central part of capital city of Jaipur. This affiliated college, approved by the Bar Council of India, has been building up legal professionals for almost two decades. Having a limited plot area of only 3.099 acres located in Raja Park, the college provides a concentrated educational experience for the 560 students admitted in the college. At present, the institute has a team of eleven dedicated faculty members, which also allows the institute to uphold the ideal student-teacher ratio of 17:1 in order to provide high-quality legal education.
The college has a number of facilities that help bring the quality of the learning process to a higher level for students. Providing the very core of these amenities is a separate library with the fiction of legal books, LAW Journals & periodicals, including AIR Manuals, Rajasthan Law Weekly, Indian Bar Review, etc. The library is a source of instructional resources which students are able to access both instructional and reference materials by reputable authors.
Since the college is committed to ensuring that students get practical training in law, the college has a Moot Court. Setting up this simulated courtroom environment enables the students to practice the art of advocacy and PCR work, develop self-confidence in matters of public speaking, and gain practical knowledge on courtroom processes. The college also understands that the use of technology is inevitable in todays society, especially in the practice of law, and therefore the computer lab is equipped with the most current gadgets and software, which include the internet for ease of accessing information and learning.
It is fully committed to developing a well-rounded education infrastructure to cater to the need for legal education. Apart from academic achievements, they have indoor games facility, a Kabbadi ground, volleyball ground and a badminton court to make students physically fit and to develop their spirit of togetherness. It also has a guest house for the use of the itinerant faculty and student’s relatives, indicating that the college endeavored to provide hospitality. Moreover, medical facilities are provided on the campus to cater the health need of the student community.
When students at Maharshi Dayanand Law College begin this legal education process, they are entering an environment that embraces legal education and practical training. The emphasis of the college on both knowledge and skills, along with a variety of infrastructure equipment, makes the college a prominent option for legal professionals among the students of Rajasthan and other states.
The Maharshi Dayanand Law College lays down a special emphasis on a selective portfolio of legal education. The institute provides three full-time courses: For undergraduates, it offers a 3-year LLB programme, a five-year integrated BA LLB programme, and a postgraduate 2-year LLM programme. These courses were developed to offer theoretical and professional knowledge to be a practicing lawyer. Unfortunately, I do not have specific numbers as to individual course intakes, but the college as a whole takes 560 students, which gives evidence of a large capacity for delivering legal education.
The administration of Maharshi Dayanand Law College screens and enrols dedicated and competent students into its law courses. While specific details about the admission procedure are not provided, prospective students are advised to regularly check the college website for more information regarding the application dates and application procedure. Probably, the college takes into account students’ performance in previous qualifying examinations and might administer its own tests or interviews as well. It may also require scores of other recognized law entrance exams as its an affiliated college, though particular exams’ names were not found in the collected data.
