Maharshi Ved Vyas Government PG College, Bhakhara was established in the year 2008, affiliated college situated in Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh. The institution which is an amalgamation of a 10-acre campus has an accumulation of 15 courses in 8 degrees offered. The college has a total strength of 1,548 students and a faculty of 12 members; thus has a good environment for learning. The federal university also recognises the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) where it aims to provide accreditation to the institution. Spread across 15 Specialisations, Maharshi Ved Vyas Government PG College provides its students with only full time courses. These include first visionary programmes like BA, B.Com and B.Sc in diverse fields, post visionary programmes like MA, M.Com and M.Sc. The college also offers diploma courses including; Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) and Diploma in Computer Applications (DCA). The cumulative approved intake for all courses is 1,548 in recognition of the fact that the institution can enroll and admit a large number of students in various courses. 

The procedure for admission at Maharshi Ved Vyas Government PG College is general and open only for merit students.
