Affiliated college namely Mahatma Gandhi College of Education, Solaiseri founded in the academic year 2007-08 is located at Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu. This school for boys and girls is located on the 5.3 hectare area and has a mission to prepare future educationalists. Affiliated to National Council for Teacher Education( NCTE) the college has two Specialisations in Education. At present the total number of under graduate student is 284 and total faculty members 26 so the student-teacher ratio is perfect for better quality education.

This college has a variety of facilities to improve the learning environment of the institutions enrolled students. A spacious library forms a part of every school as a house of knowledge and upgraded IT, intellectual grant helps the students for new technologically updated education system. It also has a spacious hall for events/ seminars adding on the academic feel of the institution campus. Sports centre provide good health and positive attitude towards team work among students. Medical personnel to provide necessary first aid services to the college fraternity are available from a health center. The campus includes a canteen for the students, accommodation for guest and a well-equipped laboratory for practicals. Users of these facilities, mostly students, can perform their academic activities effectively in comfortable classroom facilities.

Mahatma Gandhi College of Education offers two full-time courses: The two programs which can be pursued are a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and a Master of Education (M.Ed). They both take two years and are designed for aspiring educators, although at different levels of training. The B.Ed programme can only admit students upto one hundred while the M.Ed programme legal admission limit is thirty five students. These courses are expressed to enable the students to acquire requisite knowledge and skills for effective career teaching. The B.Ed programme is charged an annual fee of ₹75,000 while the M.Ed programme attract annually fee of ₹76,000.

The admission procedures of this College are highly competitive and consider previous academic results in form of mark sheets of the qualifying exams /entrance exams conducted by the college . For B.Ed programme, the admissions are made according to the policy of the state government, UT administration and the University. Likewise, admissions to M. Ed are based on the selection as directed with the guidelines of state government or university or union territory administration.
