Mahatma Gandhi School of Economics and Commerce, Silchar, was established in 1994 as a constituent college of Assam University. It is a co-educational institution that focuses on teaching economics and commerce at the postgraduate levels and has 11 faculty members currently offering its range of master's and research programmes.
Mahatma Gandhi School of Economics and Commerce offers numerous facilities that enrich life on campus. Besides these, it also offers a PGD in Marketing Management with 20 seats catering to students who want to specialise in this area.
