Mahatma Phule College of Education, Akluj: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Mahatma Phule College of Education, Akluj was established in 1990. This is one of the important and good colleges in the field of teacher education. Akluj, in the state of Maharashtra, is where the college is situated. The college campus is around 7.85 acres in land area. National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) is an accreditation granted to this institute, as a certificate of commitment to standard education. As an affiliated college, the college has the responsibility toward NCTE, which invests it with the status of conformity to national educational standards. With 94 students enroled and 8 faculty members, the college maintains a very intimate learning environment with intimate contact each student receives. 

Some of the facilities present in this college include:. A well-stocked library becomes a knowledge pool, while new laboratories facilitate on-the-spot learning. There are separate hostels for both boys and girls within the campus, with all the facilities for an out-of-town comfortable stay. Physical fitness is catered for by a modern gymnasium and other sports facilities. An auditorium for activities and seminars is also present within the college, and IT preparations are done there on campus. A cafeteria, health centre with first-aid facilities, and an operating alumni association further contribute to the holistic campus experience. The facilities at Mahatma Phule College of Education are entirely and purposely geared towards teacher training. 

This is by the provision of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). It is a full-time course over two years with an approved intake of 100 students. The B.Ed. programme caters to providing the future teacher with the theoretical background and practical experience needed in a teaching career. The college presently has only this one degree programme, but this concentration of interest enables educational theories, teaching methodologies, and classroom management techniques to be studied in great detail.

Admission at Mahatma Phule College of Education is done as per the norms laid down by the State Government / UT Administration and at the affiliated University. Admissions are based on merit, taking into account the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. The college may also use wherever applicable and as per prevailing policy.
