Mahe Co-Operative College of Teacher Education is situated at Mahe, Puducherry and it caters only the education degree aspirants. Having been founded in 2005, this affiliated college has nurtured relevant talents for education for almost two decades. Recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education the college has taken the co-educational policy to impart education for both male and female students. Currently, the college has a total student population of 189 and forty –three faculty members to guarantee that every student gets personal attention as well as quality education.

The college has a recorded list of facilities that aspire to improve the education of the learners. It therefore boasts of proper information technology structures which are important in supporting the current trends in learning. There are several Laboratories each under the department of the University facilitates practical sessions furthermore the library is a scholarly hub. 

The college also includes an auditorium, for occasions and seminars, and enhances a productive academic environment. Also for students ‘ welfare there are services such as canteen services, sports amenities, health services with a first aid section. For instance, the college offers hostels for boys and girls meant to effectively accommodate students who come from different regions.

Mahe Co-Operative College of Teacher Education currently offers one primary course: the Bachelor of Education degree commonly known as the B.Ed program. This course ia full-time and takes two years to complete; the course has an approved capacity of one hundred students. The B.Ed program ensures students are produced with adequate knowledge, skills and experience throughout their teaching career. Though it offers this one program, the college shows a dedication to keeping its focus strictly on teacher education to make sure that its graduates are ready for the challenges they will face as teachers.

Mahe Co-Operative College of Teacher Education does not charge any fees for admission and the admission is given on the basis of merit as per the guidelines provided by the State Government, Union Territory Administration and the University in which college is affiliated. The characteristics of these institutions include; Admission is granted based on the performance of the qualifying examination and or an entrance exam. 

The college may also apply some more selection methods which are in compliance with the existing norms. This whole procedure makes sure that the right candidates who should study B.Ed are put through the program.
