Mahendra Institute of Engineering and Technology, known as MIET established in the year 2009 is a private engineering college situated at Tiruchengode, Tamilnadu. As an affiliate of Anna University Chennai, MIET confers various Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs in engineering. The institute is large and it occupies a land of approximately 3.89 acres The institute is accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The total strength of students and faculty members is 916 and 233 respectively; therefore, MIET has all the necessary conditions for technical education. The institute provides 17 courses in two types of degree programs, such as Computer Science engineering, Mechanical, Civil, and Aeronautical engineering, etc.

MIET Tiruchengode has got different modern amenities to make the academics and co-curriculum of the students more appealing. The luggage includes well equipped laboratories, big library, separate hostels for boys and girls. 774)The Central Library was set up in 199;Situated at 17,029 sq ft has a seating capacity of 250;It possesses books and e-Resources. They obtained Internet service with a 2 Mbps wireless Internet connection and 8 Mbps of Wi-Fi LAN in all departments and hostels of the institute. For the convenience of students, MIET runs 150 buses that ply to all the important places within a 55 kilometer radius, including Salem, Erode, Namakkal, Tiruchengode, etc..

The institute is running total of 17 courses from undergraduate level to postgraduate degree level. At the undergraduate level, MIET offers the programs of B.E. Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering and Petrochemical Engineering. These full-time courses are of 4 years duration Each of these full- time courses takes 4 years for completion. The institute provides M.E. degree programmes in CAD CAM, and  Construction Engineering & Management, and Embedded System Technologies, which are of two year’s duration for postgraduate studies. The faculty at MIET offers all its programs in a full time basis so that students get to have a profound theoretical as well as practical knowledge about the stream they are opting for.

This college likes to admit the students through TNEA counselling for the government seats and they do not have a direct admission process. For Management Quota Admission, The Institute has their own criteria each course has its own selection process. Prospective students are therefore subjected to the course individual eligibility requirements. 

As for the minimum specific requirements, the B.E. programs require students who completed their 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Admission requirement for M.E. program include the possession of B.E. or B.Tech degree in a related field. Students’ placement is taken care by the Human Resource and Development cell of the institute and placement training is offered by the institute to the students. Though information on scholarships for specific studies cannot be documented it should be noted that MIET has a policy of supporting deserving students in their endeavours.

Established in the year 1999, Mahendra Institute of Engineering and Technology was set up with a view to offering technical education to young engineers by the Dr. M.G.R Educational and Research Institute. The various goals set for the institute also train students in both academic and practical endeavours by regarding the dynamics of the engineering field.
