Mahila Maha Vidyalaya (MMV) is one of the constituent colleges of Banaras Hindu University in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. The women’s college for this university was founded in 1928 and it has been providing higher education service for nearly nine decades. Located in a expansive area of 45 acres of land, it is a leading modern college that has been offering different programmes in different fields. The college offered 26 courses focusing on six degree levels to educate the female students. Located in a region with a profound focus on the education of women, MMV has grown into an institution that has acquired a status of a major education provider offering the highest quality education for women. 

Established facilities of the college reflect contemporary technologies that underline all academic activities of the institution. A well stocked library has a reading section, stacking section, reference and text book section and research carrels which will allow the students to read more. Advanced laboratory facilities exist for different departments so that practical actions can be experienced. The college also also caters to the general development of students through sporting amenities and facilities such as a gym and a canteen. For students who wish to be accommodated, MMV provides four hostels within the compound with internet connection, power and water supply round the clock and opportunity to access mess. The college premises also provide service amenities and recreational places such as the City Delegacy rooms and Vishwanath Temple.

MMV has wide and quality academic programmes that students can choose with free studies. This college offers both the undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma courses in different disciplines of study. These are such as Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archaeology, English, Geography, and Home Science, among others. At the postgraduate level, the college offers the MA and M.Sc programmes in Home Science, Ancient Indian History Culture & Archaeology, and Bioinformatics. Besides, MMV offers diploma programmes in Instrumental and Dance to learn more and explore in performing arts fields. All the above programmes are runs on full-time basis so that the students will be able to receive a good and intensive education.

For admission to Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, there is a full-fledged admission through CUET UG or commonly known as Common University Entrance Test Under Graduate programmes. As for all the intended students, this test is the only eligibility criterion that allows them enter this renowned institution at a national level. For postgraduate programmes such as M.Sc Bioinformatics, students are offered admission through an All India entrance examinations. Scholarship prospects remains keen on the college with an emphasis on merit to allow deserving persons achieve their dream of attaining college education.  Alumnae Association serves as the important link to the college and its students they help to keep in touch with the students and nurture them like family. It holds annual conventions and established a directory of graduates assembling a network through the entire world. With the aim of promoting excellence among current learners the association awards two prizes each calendar year conceptualised to inspire the next generation.
