Mamata College of Nursing was started in the year 2002 and is one of the best college situated in Khammam, Telangana. This affiliated college has the recognition of National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) and with the approval of INC of India. Located on a fairly small piece of ground of 0.45 acres, the college provides the students with a great number of courses in the field of nursing starting with the undergraduate ones and ending with the postgraduate ones. The total number of student enrolment is 359 and faculty is 46 making the student faculty ratio very healthy for an institution and providing quality education to the students. Currently, the institution provides 6 courses at two different degree levels providing specialisation in different fields of nursing care and health management.
Mamata College of Nursing has a variety of objects that aim at improving learning conditions and health of the students. A well-stocked library plays a central role in the acquiring and processing of information critical in academic practice. The hostels are gender specific and they include; self-contained air round and self-contained air non round and within its compound, it has washable toilets. These living spaces are added to TV spacious rooms with plasma televisions and exercise indoor gyms thus enhancing accommodation comfort for the people. In line with the development of sports facilities of the college, there are outdoor as well as indoor sports facilities which help to maintain physical as well as mental health of future health care professionals.
Nursing programmes offered by Mamata college of nursing are therefore diverse to ensure enrolment meets the arising market needs. Currently, the institution offers 6 full time programmes with the intensity of undergraduate and postgraduate level. The course offered for the undergraduate level in the college is B.Sc Nursing and for post-graduate level specific M.Sc programmes in Medical Surgical Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Obstetrics, and Gynaecology Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Psychiatric Nursing. Both these postgraduate programmes have an approved intake of five seats and reiterate the college’s quality Ensure Focus approach of teaching and learning by maintaining a targeted, small group admission size.
