The college was established in 2007. MIET, Jaggayyapeta is a private university affiliated to  Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada. The college offers courses at Diploma, Undergraduate and postgraduate level. MIET, Jaggayyapeta Diploma courses include Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Computer Engineering and Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Admissions to the Diploma course are offered to candidates who have Passed the class 10th Std./SSC examination, with at least 35% marks. 

MIET, Jaggayyapeta UG courses include B.Tech Civil Engineering, B.Tech Mechanical Engineering, B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering, B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering and B.Tech Electrical and Electronics Engineering. For MIET, Jaggayyapeta UG admissions candidates must have passed class 12th with at least 50% marks from a recognised board, with a valid score in AP EAMCET. 

The college also offers postgraduate courses. MIET, Jaggayyapeta PG courses include M.Tech In different subjects and MBA. MIET, Jaggayyapeta PG admissions are offered to candidates who must hold a BE Degree irrespective of the subject, from a recognised board with a valid score in APICET.
