It was established in 1994 as an affiliated college and is situated at Mandosil, Bargarh District of Odisha. It is a university located in a rural area, thus providing a quite atmosphere for the benefit of students. The college occupies a piece of land measuring 3 acres, a measure that offers enough space to accommodate the institutions infrastructure as well as expansion in the future. The college has a total of 249 students and bears a faculty of 11 members which overwhelmingly indicates that there is a healthy student teacher ration at Mandosil Degree College and hence the students are given proper individual attention while imparting education to them.

The core of these amenities is the college library with over ten thousand books in its collection facilities. IUP provides practical learning through a functional laboratory equipped with 16 computers that caters to different teaching and learning requirements involving computing and media services.

At present, Mandosil Degree College provides a total of five Under graduate courses, which are all full time and awarded a ‘Bachelor of Arts’ degree. These courses take a duration of three years for each, making a student to have a depth knowledge in the respective fields. The college offers academic facilities in BA Honours in Odia, English, History, Political Science, Education.
