Mannai Rajagopalaswamy Government Arts College, Mannargudi (MRGAC) is the third oldest Arts college founded in the year 1971. This affiliated college is situated in Thiruvarur District, Tamil Nadu and the college is spread over a 40.2 acres land. NAAC has accredited MRGAC for its concern and investment in offering quality education through its accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The college provides a total of 27 courses spread across the nine degrees offered to the total enrolment of 3,187 students. Having a total of 75 members on its faculty, MRGAC has a better student-faculty ratio. This college has nearly equal number of male and female students, 76% of the students are undergraduates while 24% postgraduates and all students are from the state.

To improve the experience for students, MRGAC has a well-equipped array of amenities it delivers to the students. It also has a functional library meaning that the college provides the student with good study materials. Every department has its own laboratories with modern instruments to facilitate practical knowledge in almost all fields. An auditorium is a hall in which courses, seminars and cultural events take place and contributes to the campus activity. The college offers a cafeteria for providing healthy meals, and a gymnasium for clients’ healthy lifestyles maintenance. One could appreciate the commitment MRGAC pays to the technological sector due to good IT facilities. A variety of sports facilities motivate students to have proper balance and engage in both academic and sport activities. Availability of a health centre with first aid facilities improve on the welfare of college congregation.

The college provides a broad range of academic opportunities with 27 courses of different difficulty levels in undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral. These include full-time Arts, Science and Commerce programmes of study. Some of the known programmes it has to offer comprises of BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BBA, MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Phil, and Ph.D. Some specialisations that the institutions can offer include M.Sc in Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Microbiology, and so on. The total student capacity is 3187. 

The admission process must however remain open to successful candidates worthy of admission into MRGAC. The college admitted candidates to different courses depending on the performance of the candidates in their qualifying exams. The Merit and Recognition Grant-Aiding Committee is designing to give aid to deserving students as many students were granted financial aid.
