MAR College of Engineering and Technology located at Pudukkottai city was started in the year 2008, Which is one of the most recognised Institution among the students in Tamil Nadu, India. It is a CO-ED institute which provides a multitude of engineering courses at the B. E/B. Tech and M. E/M. Tech levels. The college offers an opportunity of student intake of 622 and a faculty of 111 to foster learning environment to all engineering students. The institute teaches 7 courses in 2 levels of degree programmes in Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, computer science, Electronics and Communication and Civil Engineering.

MAR College of Engineering and Technology has put in place various resources that would enable the student to achieve not only academic but also personal achievements. It has all the subsidised engineering discipline laboratory, systems laboratory such as Thermal Engineering Laboratory, Computer Aided Design /Computer Aided Manufacturing Laboratory, Digital Signal Processing and Very Large Scale Integration Laboratory etc.. At this time it has over 13,810 volumes of books with 5022 titles which will make the library a one-stop information store for engineers and students from the allied disciplines. Accommodation is available for boys and girls separately and maintained to suit the need of the students as a college hostel. They are well-illuminated neat, airy and clean, adequate nutritious meals are provided in mess.

MAR College of Engineering and Technology has in total 7 courses with 5 undergraduates courses and 2 post graduate courses. All the undergraduate programmes are day programmes that take four calendar years to complete while the postgraduate programmes take calendar two years to complete as full-time programmes. The BE programmes offered are Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Civil Engineering. In the postgraduate level the college offers Master of Engineering in Computer Science and Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering. Even though the number of seats for each course has not been exploited the total student enrolment to all programmes is 622.
