Mar Thoma College of Science and Technology, Kollam, was started in the year 1995, is an affiliated college situated in Ayur, Kerala. This is an NAAC accredited institution which provides high number and variety of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. This college is spread across an area of 20 acres, it is providing education to 909 students in total out which 400 are boys and 509 girls. At present, it has 63 faculty members teaching 15 courses in seven degree programmes in fields like Biotechnology, Electronics, Polymer Chemistry and Computer Science.

Mar Thoma College of Science and Technology offers a number of amenities that are beneficial to students during their study. The Central Library is established with total number of 3000 books’ volume including text and reference books and DVD/CDs for various courses. It has separate hostels for the boys and the girls to make sure that the students find comfortable place to stay. A conference hall with central air conditioning, which can sit 150 participants, hosts academic and cultural activities. The college canteen is situated within the college and works from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM physical classes are, however, conducted from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The college canteen serves both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. In academic activities, the institution has well equipped departmental laboratories and a sound information technology support. Students can also got sports grounds and gym for physical training while there is a health centre with first-aid facilities for medical treatment. The campus also avails an atrium for banking services with an ATM stationed within the compound.

Science and Technology provide the programme of fifteen in total combined with undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses. It offers 9 full time undergraduate and 6 full time postgraduate programmes. The total approved intake for all the courses are 324 intakes. The courses are B.Com Finance, Computer Applications, B.Sc Electronics, Polymer Chemistry, Botany and Biotechnology, and so on.

Admission to Mar Thoma College of Science and Technology is agreed both comfortable and merit-based. There are various entrance tests recognised by the college for admission. It is, therefore, advised that the applicants cross check the admission requirements, particularly the approved examinations and their respective weightage with the respective admission offering institution. The college has been equally sensitive to the representation, enrolment and proportion of students from different diversity with 99% of its students hailing from within the state of Kerala, and 1% from outside. This blend leads to creation of diverse learning platform that exposes the students with different view and experience.
