Established in 1980, Maratha Mandal Polytechnic is one of the leading technical colleges situated in Belgaum, Karnataka. This affiliated college approved by AICTE provides diploma courses in various fields of engineers. Occupying only 3.25 acres of land, this institute has an overall student enrollment of 806 and 34 faculty members. Being a technological institution, Maratha Mandal Polytechnic offers six full time diploma courses each of three years in different specialisation of Engineering.

 Maratha Mandal Polytechnic boasts of a variety of useful facilities aimed at creating the best training environment for students. One of the facilities is Independent boys & girls hostel which provides fully furnished accommodation for boys & girls, discipline, and all upscale facilities. A well equipped library is designed as a knowledge centre which has a large number of books, newspapers and technical journals. The college has a good information technology system in its students to make sure they are familiar with current technological developments. In order to support practical learning, the institute is equipped with well equipped laboratories for each department in terms of AICTE norms including sophisticated equipments . Carpentry, fitting, foundry, welding, sheet metal, and machine shops are also present on the campus for practical sessions for students.

In total, the Maratha Mandal Polytechnic provides six diploma courses as all courses are undertaken as full-time programmes. There are various courses offered that are, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Computer and Science Engineering. Each course is set to offer students at an approved capacity of 60 students this means that there are 360 students’ capacity in all programmes. They include courses that are investor, hardware trader, software trader, engineer, material supplier, contracting, and construction engineer interests.

The admission policy in Maratha Mandal Polytechnic is competitive and every student undergoes a competitive selection process. When called for an interview, prospective students must take along their original mark sheets and other testimonials if any. The process of admission of candidates is carried out through the decision depending on the rules introduced by the Government of Karnataka from time to time.
