Belgaum has one prime institution of its kind in the Maratha Mandal’s College of Pharmacy which was set up in the year 1984. Set up in Belgaum, Karnataka, this college for both men and women is a treasure trove of pharmacy programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Established in 2001, the college is located at a 3-acres Purchaser and is PCI approved and affiliated college. Still, the institute encompasses 359 students only and 29 members in faculty, providing students with a proper proportion as the necessary condition for successful studying.

Maratha Mandal’s College of Pharmacy has a variety of instructional resources as a patron of innovative infrastructure for academic purposes. The College of Pharmacy of Maratha Mandal provides six programmes in all in its span of three degree levels. Some of these are Intake programmes in D.Pharma, B.Pharma and several M.Pharma specialisations like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry. B. Pharma is an undergraduate programme that takes four academic years for completion, and the total number of intake capacity for this programme is 60 students For the two-year M. Pharma programmes, the intake capacities differ. The D.Pharma programme which is a two years diploma course also seated 60 students every year. In the academic year 2022 the college admitted 288 students where 261 studied under the undergraduate programmes while 27 under post graduate programmes.

Maratha Mandal’s College of Pharmacy has different procedure of admission for each course. As for the D.Pharma course the admissions are granted on the basis of the score obtained in the ‘Pre-Pharmacy Test’ conducted by this university. Lack of information regarding other courses offered by this university is witnessed and often the pharmacy colleges use the national or state level entrance examinations in their admission processes. The college boasts of a policy on diversity, where the college student population is made up of 48% male and 52% female for undergraduate and post graduate programmes. Notably, many students enrol from other states; 21% of undergraduate and 22% of postgraduate students belong to other states than Karnataka.
