Maria College of Engineering and Technology (MCET), Kanyakumari, is an AICTE-approved engineering college that offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in engineering and management fields. The admission procedure of the college is a properly structured process that aims at selecting the deserving candidates for different undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The acceptance policy at MCET aims to give an equal opportunity to all the students thereby ensuring that the method of selection is fair and transparent. The admission cycle for MCET is generally synchronized with the academic calendar of universities in Tamil Nadu. Admission to undergraduate engineering programs is mainly on the basis of TANCET. For postgraduate admissions, TANCET scores are also considered for business administration and computer applications. The eligibility requirements differ from one program to another.
For a bachelor of engineering program, the candidate has to pass 10+2, studying Physics along with Chemistry and Mathematics as core subjects. For postgraduate courses, enrolled candidates are to have a bachelor's degree, which secures a good standing from a recognized university. The admission notifications usually contain the specific eligibility requirements which may change from course to course. TANCET stands as the forerunner of all entrance tests used for the admission process of the MCET. Consequently, this examination evaluates candidates' aptitude in subjects pertaining to their field of study. Therefore, candidates obtaining an TANCET rank are advised to work hard and equip themselves with syllabus knowledge as well as previous years question papers to enhance their admission prospects.
