About Mary Matha Arts and Science College, Wayanad

Marymatha Arts & Science College, Mananthavadi, Wayanad district of Kerala, was started in the year 1995. This affiliated college, which NAAC approves, provides appropriate courses in the undergraduate and postgraduate level. On an 18 acre area, the college is having 855 students and faculty of 23. As of now, the institute offers 14 courses spread in five programmes of Arts, Science, Commerce, and Computer Application streams. With a balanced gender ratio of 1:1.6 boy to girl ratio, the college shows a humane approach of enroling every gender in education with 92% of students being undergraduates while 8% are postgraduates.

Mary Matha Arts and Science College provides various amenities to improve the quality of education of its learners. Provided with internet connection, the library forms a base for all academic materials. Labs facilities available for different departments are Zoology Lab, Chemical Lab, and Physics Lab. The college’s IT facility educational resources include the computer laboratory, originated with seventy nine computers, software and other contemporary equipment in form of digital trainer kits and DLP projectors. On the second floor, there is a hall for holding the seminars, exhibitions, and other functions. 

This college has intention for physical fitness and has parlor for athletic activities which includes gym, basketball, volleyball, table tennis and badminton. The campus also has smart class rooms that supports ICT to enhance the learning process of students. There is a girls hostel which is a partly UGC funded can house 40 students and has bath in the same room. Antonine & Multipurpose facilities include cafetering, shop & stores, a health care centre, parking space and other related facilities to provide an all round comfortable environment suitable for student and staff’s campus life.

At present, Mary Matha Arts and Science College consists of 14 courses but, these include undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These are full courses offered by the institute in all domains having specialisations in Arts, Science as well as Commerce. For all courses, the approved intake is 855 students. The courses are B.Com, B.Com Computer Application, B.Sc Zoology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, M.Sc Computer Science, and so on.

The Mary Matha Arts and Science College has laid down some conditions and standard to follow for admission of students. The college does not set any specials entry requirements meaning that entry may be determined by performance in qualifying examinations.
