Mass College of Education is one of the leading teacher education institutions located at Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India was started in the year 2004. This co-educational affiliated college is approved by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). They are a co-educational affiliated college endorsed by the National Council for Teacher Education [NCTE] , and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council [NAAC]. Mass College of Education occupies a quite small area of 1 acres and provides two specific tracks in education. Mass College of Education founded in 1996 serves 151 students and 15 faculties focused to offer quality education for teaching professions. 

This commitment to quality education is seen by the programme that the institution has for example Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and Master of Education (M.Ed.).There are also facilities with the college now to support and complement the learning process of the students. Conveniently located state-of-the-art library holds more than 10 364 book titles and countless pieces of educational material. The seating determined in the library; and the space, the comfortability of the seats underlines an appropriate academic environment for learning. For the physical development of the college the college has very well equipped play fields for basketball, cricket, volleyball etc. The institution also places emphasis on technology thus has a modern IT department. There is an elongated cafeteria on campus where clean and healthy food that can be ordered to suit a number of palates is prepared. They also ensure they have a college bus to transport the students from other regions of the city to the college and vice versa.

Mass College of Education has a total of two full-time programme both courses related to education profession. These are a degree programme, known as B.Ed; an undergraduate degree programme ; and an M.Ed, an undergraduate postgraduate degree programme.

Mass College of Education has its admission policy set by the university and the Government of Tamil Nadu Regulations. In the case of B.ED programme , students are admitted under merit system depending on the score they have obtained in their qualifying examination or entrance test and following central or state government and university norms.

These reservations are made in terms of the existing statutory provisions. The intake of the M.Ed course is approved for 50 students.
