In the counselling procedure you will have to fill choices fir the colleges out of which you will get the college according to your jee marks and All India Rank.

Hello aspirant!!! Since you haven't mentioned your home state or category giving an exact answer wouldn't be possible. But one thing is sure that at this rank getting top NITs wouldn't be possible. In fact getting any NIT would be impossible maybe except NITs in north east. If you will got any seat of nit or iiit or gftis you have to for verification of your documents to nearest verification center . You need not to go to the aloted college first .

If you are general category student then I am sorry to say that you have not cleared the eligiblity criteria for jee mains.
So you cannot register for josaa and cannot appear for counselling.
But there are many private colleges which take admission on the basis of jee mains marks.

You must already have set some priorities and after that if you have assigned a seat in first round after that you want to upgrade it then you would get a option also for that in second round wether to lock or go further.

Yes you certificate will be valid the language / medium doesn't cause any problem. You can take you ews certificate for the counseling they will oblige with it. Don't worry.

Once the previous rounds are over, a fresh candidate can participate in JoSAA counselling by registering on the online portal and filling the choices.
After the subsequent rounds, if a candidate decides to withdraw from the counselling, then he/she won't be able to participate in the further rounds of the counselling.

Yes, indeed there are cut off ranks for all the rounds of JoSAA counselling. The cut off ranks change acccordingly as the number of students taking part in the counselling process changes. For every succeding round, the closing ranks go a bit lower than what it was in the previous round as the vacancy is created in any particular branch. That means, that possibility of getting a desired branch increases round by round. To know more, you can check the previous years cut offs for all the 7 rounds.

This year there is a change in the reservation and the mock results are based on previous year data. Therefore, if your rank is somewhere on the lower side then there is an ambiguity that you might or might not get the seat.
There is uncertainty for you to get the seat this year maybe. However, you must do counseling and wait for the results of round one, as there is a chance that you might get a seat too.
