Matha College of Teacher Education, Sivagangai, Tamil Nadu, is a reputed college committed to build the future of education. This affiliated college was set up in the year 2006 and has been preparing future teachers for more than ten years. Located and spread over an area of 13 acres of land in the Vaanpuram, Manamadurai, the college provides a right ambiance for learning. Matha College of Teacher Education follows the guidelines and standards set by the NCTE.

Matha College of Teacher Education has several wondеrful facilities that facilitate learning among the students. This centre has at its core a modern library that holds 5173 books,109 encyclopedia sets, 1000 reference books, and 21 journals with a seating space of 300. As for those interested in sports and fittings, the college facilities an open playground and a room with indoor games facilities. Extra-curricular activities includes: Students can participate in any of the following sports: football, hockey, cricket, volleyball, and badminton. The college also values technological innovation through the provision of quality IT facilities and every learner is made ready to face the modern technological world. In addition, department based laboratories are available at the learning environment which is essential for anyone intentioned to be a teacher.

Matha College of Teacher Education, at present, has only one course to offer, Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This course has built its structure to offer full-time two-years course that aims to shape good quality teacher for students. The college has an approved intake of 100 students for this programme in an effort to make sure that the college would always be in a position to provide adequate teaching facilities to allow for adequate student/teacher ratio that is important in the training of the students. 

The admission policy of the Matha College of Teacher Education aims to follow the norms governing admission policies in the State Government, UT Administration, and the affiliated University. Selection to the UG/PG programme is based on only merit, which is based on marks scored in the qualifying examination or the entrance test. 

The college provides all comforts boarding facilities for both male and female students. For the inconvenient of the students the college has the transport facility for free of cost which has the buses and vans running from Madurai, Sivagangia, Manamadurai, Paramakudi & Veeracholan. Matha College of Teacher Education employed 9 faculty members of the college to make sure that all the students can learn comfortably and express themselves.
