Azim Premji University, Bangalore, Karnataka is a relatively young institution which was founded in 2008 to assist in producing quality teachers who will instruct future generations. This affiliated college situated at Thathanur, Udayarpalayam Taluk, Ariyalur District, Tamil Nadu offers the following course, which hold accreditation from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). Affiliated to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the institute at present imparts Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course in a compact premises of only 0.93 acre. Besides, this college offers the B.ED course to 79 students and has an approved student-capacity of 100 students to ensure the teacher trainees get adequate attention during learning.

Azim Premji University has a variety of facilities which are meant to support and improve the learning process of the learners. The library is very stocked with numerous books, national and international journals, Educational CDs/ DVDs related to all fields. As part of practical facilities, the biological, computer, education technology, physical, and psychological science laboratories are upheld in the institute. Also for the overall health of students there is the facility like sports, gym etc in the college. A primary health care centre with first aid facilities available also provides the necessities in medical care to students on campus.

In this college, there is only single full time course available which is the two years Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This creates a focused approach towards a noble cause of producing quality educators since the institution directs its effort and energies towards this noble endeavour. The B.Ed programme also has an intake capacity of 100 approved, meaning that the opportunities for those who want to become teachers are more than enough. Unfortunately, data for the current academic year Graduating class, overall enrollment stands at 79 students all in all shows that the college is ready to contain the student-teacher ratio to make learning efficient.
