About Meghna Institute of Dental Sciences, Nizamabad
Meghna Institute of Dental Sciences (MIDS) as the name suggests was started in the year 2004 and is in Nizamabad, Telangana. This self-financed institution is located atvara, Warangal and KNR University of Health Sciences, Warangal is accredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC. MIDS is built across a 5 acre campus of which 8 courses are offered across 2 degrees of which a total of 449 students are enrolled across the two programmes and 110 faculty members. It is recognised by Dental Council of India (DCI) and the management of the institute follows policy of imparting value based education and encouraging evidence based dentistry.
Most of the facilities available at MIDS Nizamabad are all contemporary amenities aimed at helping the students grow from all angles while they learn. The campus also has well-endowed hostels where students of both sexes can live with up to 250 of them. These hostels have basic requirements such as mess facilities, recreation area, water supply, electricity supplies and internet connection which are also provided. There are over 4,232 textbooks, 105 printed publications, 60 e-journals and over 562 reference books in the library of the institute. Students also can use EBSCO and E-Consortium data-base. For medical requirements, a hospital called Pragati Hospital is linked to this college where this college has 150 Beds, and located 7 KM from the college. Institute believes in all-round development of the child that’s why it has sports facilities in the building where the students are freely encouraged to take part in different sports activities and events.
MIDS Nizamabad is a well-equipped center which offers all kinds of dental education programmes. Undergraduate programs are of BDS while postgraduate programs are of MDS which are all conducted full time. The BDS course has 100 intakes and the program takes five academic years to complete. At the post graduate level, MIDS provides various MDS specializations that take three years to complete.
Meghna Institute of Dental Sciences has some standard criteria for students’ selection involving the structure of the admission process and following the rules of regulatory bodies. The BDS program actually admits through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test under the name NEET UG. Candidates must pass NEET UG and follow the requirement set by the institute.
