MGM College, Morena Admission

Munishwar Dutt Post Graduate College (MDPG), Pratapgarh, is a well-known postgraduate college in Uttar Pradesh, India. The college offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in arts, commerce, and sciences. MDPG Pratapgarh follows a good admission procedure for identifying desirable candidates for its various academic courses.

The admission process in MDPG Pratapgarh is primarily merit-based, with the exception of the B.Ed course. For the rest of the courses, admissions are made based on marks obtained in the qualifying exam. In this manner, students with a good academic background are given the opportunity to pursue further studies at the college.

Application Process

The MDPG Pratapgarh application process is marginally different for every chosen course but the same as follows:

1. Declaration of Admissions: The college formally declares the commencement of the admission process on its website and through local news.

2. Application Form: Applicants must gather and fill in the application form. This could be downloadable on the college website or be found in the college admission office.

3. Documentation: Besides the completed application form, there will also be documents submitted, depending on these:

  • 10th, 12th or graduation marks sheet, depending on case
  • Previous institution's character certificate, where the applicant had been attending their last time there
  • Transfer certificate
  • Migration certificate if there has been such
  • Caste certificate, where reserved category candidates can avail
  • Recent passport-size photos

4. Entrance Test (for B.Ed): The candidates seeking admission to B.Ed course will be required to appear for an entrance test as per state government or university norms.

5. Merit List Preparation: Merit lists are prepared by the college in line with the prescribed criteria for each course (entrance test marks or qualifying examination marks).

6. Counselling and Admission: Shortlisted candidates are called for counselling, where they verify their documents and complete the admission formalities, i.e., fee payment.

7. Confirmation of Admission: After all the formalities are completed and fees are paid, the candidate's admission is confirmed.

Degree wise Admission Process

B.A., B.Sc., and B.Com: These under-graduate courses have admission on the merit basis. Students are selected for admissions on the basis of marks obtained by them in the 10+2 or equivalent examination. Marks in the qualifying exam are taken into consideration by the college in order to prepare a merit list for admission.

M.A. (Hindi, English, Economics, Ancient History, Geography): The admission process for postgraduate studies in Arts is also merit-oriented. Candidates with a bachelor's degree in the subject of concern or allied subjects are eligible to apply. The preference is generally made on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying undergraduate degree.

M.Com: Admissions for the Master of Commerce also lie on a system of merit. Candidates who possess a B.Com or an equivalent degree are eligible, and the admission is made on their previous academic performance during graduation.

M.Sc. Mathematics: Admissions for the postgraduate Mathematics program are done on a merit system. Candidates possessing a degree of B.Sc. in Mathematics or allied courses are considered, and their graduation marks hold a considerable weightage for selection.

B.Ed: The admission procedure to the Bachelor of Education course at MDPG Pratapgarh is more formalized in comparison to other courses. Admission is carried out on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/or entrance test. The procedure also adheres to the regulations prescribed by the state government, UT administration, and university selection criteria. This ensures that there is a fair and standardized procedure for selecting future teachers.
