The MGM Institute Of Fashion Design Aurangabad (MGM IFD) is a professional education facility exclusively for fashion and textile design aspirants. This affiliated college was set in the year 2016 and is situated in the city of Aurangabad in Maharashtra. MGM IFD has a student capacity of one hundred and three and faculty strength of eight which ensures small class size for students in the field of designing. The institute offers 6 courses in 3 degree programs in the areas fulfilling the theme of fashion design, textile design and fashion management. 

MGM IFD has incorporated quality education in its courses and various amenities to ensure practical learning education is achieved. The MGM IFD campus has all facilities on campus to optimize the learning process of the students. Rukhmini Auditorium acts as an apt platform for ‘Kaleidoscope’ the annual fashion event and other chief college functions to help the students to polish their innovative ideas. The institute provides clean hostels for both boys and girls on campus basis to provide comfortable stay to students coming from other cities. Extra curricula activities include; approved sports facilities, a library, and departmental laboratories complements the student’s development. The campus also has an ailment that contains first aid station, gym,and canteen that caters for the health needs and the meals for the students. The college IT infrastructure and guest house facilities complete the enablers to foster the college learning environment and growth.

At MGM Institute of Fashion Design, there are total 6 courses which are all full time courses. These educational programs include two bachelor’s degree programs, three master’s degree programs and one advanced diploma course. The institute has an overall approved enrollment capacity of one hundred and sixty-growers to cater for all courses offered admitting what the institute considers a reasonable student enrollment ratio. There is no specific graduation data for the latest year, however, its vigorously practical, industrial curriculum is designed to create successful professionals in the fields of fashion and textiles.

Till date, the admission in MGM Institute of Fashion Design is mainly through Design Aptitude Test (DAT). This is a norm referenced test that is employed to evaluate creativity and intelligence of all those aspiring to study in any of the courses offered in the institute. The DAT tests a candidate abilities in design sensitization, in problem solving, and creative thinking skills, thus standardizing the student that is admitted to the programs to warrant maximum output in their fields of specialization.
