ML and JNK Girls College, established in 1966, serves as a beacon for the higher education of women in Uttar Pradesh. The college has taken much pride in its cultural activities and the 'Bajoria Sabhagar' auditorium forms a needed epicentre for the conduct of cultural and co-curricular events. This place with a seating capacity of 1000 holds annual prize distribution functions, dance and drama competitions, lectures, and seminars where students can actually prove and express themselves beyond academics.

The institution offers 18 courses in all forms: full-time undergraduate, postgraduate as well as doctoral programmes. These include traditional Arts subjects such as MA in Hindi, English, and Sanskrit besides social sciences which comprise MA in Sociology, Political Science, and Economics. Besides these, the college also offers specialisation in Home Science and MA Drawing and Painting, which develop theoretical and practical capabilities in students.
