MM Institute of Medical Sciences, School of Nursing, Coimbatore is founded in 1993, located in Tamil Nadu, India. Located on a 2-acre campus, this co-educational facility provide General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM only) course. The institute offers an intimate learning atmosphere to accommodate 20 students at large and employs a faculty of 7 members. Though it is not easy to provide specific rankings, the institute’s involvement in medical education is as follows: It has been more than 28 years in the medical field.

There are several facilities in the MM Institute of Medical Sciences that give the student an improved learning environment and enable them in their learning process. The college library is equipped with almost 4,000 books, newscasts, and magazines considering nursing subject for students. This is because the campus has both boys and girls hostels that help students who commute from various places to have comfortable accommodation. Departmental laboratories provide student activities to learn through practical laboratory exercises necessary in the practice of nursing. Institute also has an auditorium for conducting some events or seminars, cafeteria for students and faculty and health centre have first aid available. To facilitate a strong and overall growth of the students there are facilities for sports and a gym on the campus. State of the art technology enhances the teaching approach in the institute, and a guest house hosts the faculties and their families.

MM Institute of Medical Sciences, School of Nursing, offers a single full-time course: the course of the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course. This is a three-year course that is directed towards enabling students to become professional nurses so that they can get a job in the health facility and discharge their duties with professionalism and efficiency by having adequate medical knowledge and a number of achievable nursing skills. The number of seats that are to be provided for this programme is not stated clearly, but the only clue given relating to the institute’s student intake is that it is 20, apparently for a more class room type like tutorials. This is stated in the curriculum of the institute, the content of which focuses on developing proper professional competencies, as well as the emphasis on practical training.
