Model Mahila College, Kharsawan started in the year 2016 and it is a constituent college of the S.K.M. University at Hazaribagh catering the education needs of the rural and tribal girls of Sarikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand. Devoted solely to female learners, this intuitions aims at offering quality education to students of that region. Located in a five acre of land, the college provides various under graduate courses in arts and computer applications. This very strategic school has a good student Size of 296, manned by 6 members of faculties only, which contributes to its focused learning environment. The college provides 7 courses in 4 degree programs, counting for every kind of academic focus and prospective profession of learners.

The college has presented itself with a variety of facilities to complement the training of learners in the college. A library storey serves all learners as an academic/computer resource centre for referencing and carrying out research. For instance, to cater for those that want to engage in activities that enhance their physical strength sinus the college provides places where one can exercise to enhance his or her fitness. The campus has facilities like network connectivity, Wi-Fi technology among others hence student get connected to the technology information and learning in the campus. Laboratories are essential for the practical learning and for the out-station students a separate girls’ hostel has also been/allotted for safe and comfortable accommodation of out-station students. The institution has also a health care center with first aid facilities which are taken seriously by the college authority for the students’ welfare. There is guest house /waiting room also available on the campus for visiting faculty and other relatives.

Model Mahila College, Kharsawan conducts 7 full time courses all in different streams. The academic programs are Bachelor of Arts (BA) with honours specialization in History, Hindi, English and Politics. Moreover, the college provides a general stream Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) program, for the students who are inclined towards computer studies.
