MCI Modern College of Education Malerkotla, established in the year 2006, is one of the affiliated college in Sangrur District of Punjab. Located on a 5 acre lush campus the institute is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Admission to college level’s Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme is of 100 students in total. Modern College of Education is aimed at preparing educators and has 13 members of staff, while it has 76 students right now.

The institute has numerous amenities within the campus to cater for students needs in learning processes. The campus has itself established sufficient laboratories some of which are science laboratory with practical materials and instruments, computer assisted language laboratory, and education technology with state of the computer system, internet and other teaching aids. Modern College of Education Malerkotla specifically provides teacher education and only one course is a two-year full time B.ED Programme. This focus enhances the institute’s capability to provide training to future educators hence its specialised approach. The B.Ed course offered by the college with a total seat capacity of 100 is the flagship course of the college. Unfortunately, the number of graduates from this college can not be provided but a serious approach to the preparation of teachers is reflected in a well-defined curriculum and infrastructure.
