MCTE , started in 2012 is a premier teacher education college situated in Mokokchung, Nagaland with he vission to produce quality teachers through effective teacher education. This affiliated college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and is dedicated to the Education for tomorrow. MCTE is a small college occupying a small piece of land of 5 acres and therefore affords the student a central place of learning. The college at present has 105 students strength with 12 membered staffs’ team that is comparatively very good student faculties ratio for student friendly environment.

To this end, MCTE boasts of having well equipped facilities that facilitate learning in the modern way. The college also has a good library it contains many books which make sure students are well equipped with education material. An auditorium as a central facility for events and seminars helps to develop thinking skills. In order to cover the aspect of physical development, MCTE provides for sporting amenities and even embraces the use of sports. The college has gone a long way in incorporating ICT’s with good IT department and connectivity through out the college with a 300Mbit optic fiber. Currently, all classrooms have been transformed into smart classrooms from February 2023 equipped with modern teaching facilities.

MCTE is one institution that is defining the education market offering through its core product, the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed). This is a two years full time programme with an aim to prepare students professionally to face teaching challenges. Students pursing this programme has an approved intake of one hundred and the college prepares to a produce large number of qualified educators annually. 

Enrollment at MCTE follows as a guideline the general selection criteria of Nagaland University.
