Mother College of Education, Visakhapatnam, was established in 2003 as an affiliated college in Sabbavaram, Visakhapatnam District, Andhra Pradesh. The institute is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education and offers two full-time education courses. With a total student enrolment of 98 and faculty of 14, it provides a very focused learning environment for aspiring educators.

It affords all facilities for students' intellectual and personal growth. Mother College of Education has a good library with 2,100 volumes, comprising 209 title names of textbook titles, 380 reference books, 7 journals, and 8 encyclopedias. Laboratories for Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Psychology, Art & Craft, and English Linguistics are provided to give hands-on experience. Modern IT infrastructure has also equipped this college. In this way, the students get the latest technology for education purposes. The well-being of students is ensured by having facilities like a health center with first aid, canteen, and gym have also been provided. Facilities for sports activities are also within this institution. A guest house has also been provided for visiting faculties and family members of students. Other facilities include transport facilities for students and staff, which further increases the accessibility. 

The mother college of education offers two full-time courses: B.Ed (Bachelor of Education) and D.El.Ed (Diploma in Elementary Education). The duration of the former is two years and that of the latter also spans two years.

Admissions at Mother College of Education are done in accordance with the rules and regulations framed by the Commissioner and Directorate of School Education & DIET CET of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. This assures uniformity and equity in the selection process for admission to both B.Ed and D.El.Ed.
