Mother Teresa Teacher Training College coming into existence in the year 2007 is one of the most popular educational institute situated in Hindaun City, Rajasthan. Being a co-educational college affiliated to the state university, the college offers teacher training programs only. Accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) the college owns a 1.46 acre campus. Currently, with the total number of 370 students and 30 members of teaching staff, the Institute provides the compact atmosphere for learning. To this effect, the college offers three full time programmes of two years integrated duration each, namely B.A. B.Ed./B.Sc. B.Ed. and B.Ed. The integrated programmes comprises two programmes offering four year Bachelors degree along with Bachelors in Education qualification in the respective subject major streamed into the programme.
It features modern facilities that facilitate learning in various learning styles in a college learning environment to the students. These amenities have a central library which contains more than five thousand books of different aspects of education, numerous journals and educational encyclopedias. There is also library for 60 students at a time to study or do research in the library as well. Science and psychology laboratory also forms part of the institution accommodation and adequately endowed with sophisticated apparatus and instruments. A special feature is an Educational Technology and Media Lab with 6 computers connected to the Internet, multimedia equipment, and catalog of educational technology resources. This lab has capacity of 35 students and is very essential in preparing the future teachers on the new technologies. In physical development, the college offers indoor and outdoor sports facilities in order to promote the aspect of play over the child.
All courses offered at Mother Teresa Teacher Training College are full time and there are three courses in total. These include two courses combined with B.ED – the four-year BA B.ED and B.Sc B.ED combination courses, 2 and the two-year stand alone B.ED course. The college has an ability of 370 students for all the courses and every course admission was provided one hundred seats. This set of courses provides an opportunity for the student to select a track that will best suit him or her in terms of career destinations within the field of education. Mother Teresa Teacher Training College admits its students through PTET which is called Pre-Teacher Education Test which is sponsored by state government. This exam must be taken by prospective students and there is always counseling that follows this exam. PTET examinations serve as the criterion for the college to provide admission to students in terms of counseling results. By so doing, the college provides a standardised mechanism of admitting students that are disciplined, competent and have the passion for teaching profession. Based on the fact that this institution concentrates on education of teachers, its physical facilities and orderly system of admitting students, it may be of significant importance to students pursuing teacher training in Rajasthan or anywhere else.
