MS Polytechnic, Bangalore an affiliated college was set up in 1986 and is located in Yeshwanthpur,Bangalore. This university focuses on engineering and architecture to provide diploma-recognised courses by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Campus size At present, MS Polytechnic is located on a limited area of 3 acres; Total number of students 47; Number of faculties 12. The institute provides two diploma courses in engineering specialisations namely Electronics and Communication Engineering and Computer Science and Engineering. Since its goal is to provide a technical post-secondary education with emphasis on realism and applicability, MS Polytechnic endeavours to produce professional engineers.

MS Polytechnic has a number of facilities that are intended to help improve the education of the college’s students. Library is provided with a large number of books, journals and research publications of various fields of study necessary for a student.. In terms of practice, there’s a computer science lab, digital electronics and hardware lab, micro controller lab, and networking lab. These facilities enable the students to be equipped with professional experience that is relevant for the engineering discipline particularly in the industry. The college also accord high importance for physical fitness and recreation facilities for both indoor and outdoor games and a fully equipped gym. Room for dining allowed in campuses offering healthful meals and vitamins to scholars. There is accommodation within the school compound for boys who want to stay within the hostel though it is a boys hostel located within the city centre. It also operates a basic health post to cater for minor medical needs of the students’ and staff in the college.

MS Polytechnic has two types of full time diploma courses for which the duration is three years each. They total approved intake for these courses is 98 students, of which 49 are for each programme. The two diploma courses being embraced are Diploma in Electronics and Communications Engineering and Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering. Both programmes aim at preparing students that would equip them with both theoretical and practical knowledge of the sector.

Most of the institutions in India including MS Polytechnic follow merit as their principle for admissions. The filling up of seats is done through counselling organised by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Karnataka. Out of the total intake capacity, 33 percent of seats are given for the management quota and these are directly filled by the Institute as per the norms laid down by the board of the Institute. This offer a chance for those students who may have missed DTE counselling processes to enrol into the recognised institutions. Student intake is taken in according to the results achieved by the learners in the preceding academic year, therefore, making it easy for learners to join the college if they wished to pursue a career in engineering.

NSS has been very active and recognised in the college where number of students are motivated to engage themselves in the programme. It also assists students to increase their social responsibilities, leadership and solve problems at the same time. Training and Placement Cell is devoted to mobilising relevant link between students and industry and achieving internships and employment opportunities in leading organisations of the country MS Polytechnic. The cell is dedicated to the transformation of students into responsible, self-motivated and innovative professional to face corporate world. Unfortunately, there is no information about the specific scholarships provided However, it can be said that the college is quite liberal in acceptance and training of its students as well as promoting affordable education.
