MS Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research (RINER), Bangalore, Karnataka, was founded in the year 1987. The following affiliated college approved by the INC (Indian Nursing Council) offers a range of courses in nursing in the categories of diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate. Located on a large acreage of 70 acres, the RINER enrols 508 students and employs 21 faculty staffs. The institute offers 8 courses at 3 different degree levels including Medical Surgical Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing Paediatric Nursing and Community Health Nursing etc.
RINER aims at making sure that the provision of quality, appropriate infrastructure to meet the needs of its learners. The institute has a modern library with the collection of 5774 text books, national and international print journals and also has the privilege to access HELINET facility in Health Science Library. Anatomy, Nursing Arts, OBG, Pediatric, Community, Nutrition, Physics and Chemistry practicals are some of laboratory facilities extended to the students. The campus comprises specific hostels for boys and girls, with internet connection and security services at night. RINER is associated with the NABH & NABL certified 1500 bedded M.S. Ramaiah Hospital and M.S. Ramaiah Memorial Hospital which are both well equipped for offering clinical real life exposure to the students.
The institute provides all level of nursing education to provide for various educational requirements. RINER offers 8 full time programmes for diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate level. The additional approved intake for all courses is overall 225 numbers. B.Sc Nursing, has 100 seat intake and the GNM course has a seating capacity for 60 students. Other courses offered are Post Basic B.Sc Nursing (30) and different specialisation of M.Sc Nursing including Medical Surgical Nursing (15), Psychiatric Nursing (5), Paediatric Nursing (5) and Community Health Nursing (5).
