As a relatively new institution of legal education in Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav Law College, Lucknow, was founded in 2017.  This affiliated college which benefits from recognition of the Bar Council of India (BCI). The college has an enrolment of 65 students in total for all courses and has only 3 faculty members. It offers three undergraduate law programmes to cater for legal practice interest at different levels. 

Mulayam Singh Yadav Law College has  buildings and equipment that are basically intended to enable the students to learn effectively. The library, well stocked has 1,562 text books, will help students in their legal research and studying. This institution also understands the need to include practical training in the courses and offers a students moot court that assist the students to practice advocacy in a court room. For a student that needs to be accommodated, the college has a boys’ hostel as well as a girls’ hostel to ensure that learners who come from towns and districts are provided with safe and decent hostels. Facilities and resources include a fully Wi-Fi enabled computer lab to improve computer usage, usage of knowledge based networks and the internet. For the purpose of over all development, the college has provided some of the facilities for outdoor games including badminton, kho-kho, kabaddi and basketball etc. and indoor games include chess and carrom etc. The college also owns a canteen, health centre with first aid facilities, an auditorium where various events and seminars can take place, thus painting a well rounded college environment for learning. 

Mulayam Singh Yadav Law College has a well defined theme which includes three law programmes. They include a three-year LLB programme, a three-year LLB Hons course and a five-year integrated LLB Hons programme. It is important for students to understand all courses are structured effectively, in order these students acquire acceptable knowledge in law in the legal profession. The college implemented a small but active student population with total enrolment of students equal to sixty-five persons in all the programmes offered. This small size makes it easier for instructors to get to know students and for students to get to know one another an aspect that is very vital in legal education.

Mulayam Singh Yadav Law College in Lucknow is one of the newest legal education institutions in the state of Uttar Pradesh, founded in 2017. The college is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and offers three undergraduate law programs based on various interests in the field of legal practice. Passing the 10+2 examination or any other examination considered as equivalent is an eligibility criterion for all law programs at this institution. This is applicable in this case for three years LLB; three years LLB Hons course; and five years integrated LLB Hons program. Depending on the law programs, the college considers the qualifying exam results at admission without, however, ruling out the possibility of conducting its entrance tests or interviews, where necessary, to satisfy about the suitability of the candidates for these programs. 

Application Process

1. Interested candidates should visit the college's website for information on admission.

2. Prospective students should download and fill out the application form, presumably accessible from the college website or the college office.

3. Candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria (that is, having completed 10+2 or an equivalent qualification) before proceeding to apply.

4. The completed application form should be submitted along with the requisite documents. This usually consists of:

  • Mark sheets and Certificates of 10th and 12th
  • Character Certificate from the last institution attended
  • Transfer Certificate
  • Migration Certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste Certificate (if applicable)
  • Recent passport-sized photographs

5. Candidates may be asked to pay an application fee. The amount and mode of payment should be confirmed from the college website or admission office.

6. The eligible candidates would then be shortlisted as per their academic records by one or other means of running a screening procedure, which also might include entrance testing or interviewing.

Degree wise Admission Process

LL.B: The three-year LLB program is offered by the college. It takes admission of students who have completed 10+2 or any other test deemed comparable. The program aims to provide students with a basic foundation in legal studies.

LL.B. Hons.: The college also runs a three-year course in LLB Hons. The eligibility條件s for this program are the same as for regular LLB; that is, completion of 10+2 or equivalent. In comparison with the LLB, this program might cover greater depth of study in subjects of law.

LL.B. Hons Integrated: The five-year integrated LLB Hons program is for students who want to study law immediately after their 10+2 qualifications. The eligibility requirement is the same as for the other courses - successful completion of the 10+2 or any other test considered equivalent. This integrated program links the undergraduate studies with law education.
